Student Government
Shromila Gupta and Silvia Sanders, with the help of parent volunteers, support our Student Government Officers, Senate and Representatives.
What Does Student Government Do?
The Student Government Officers, Senate members and Representatives work to establish and promote school spirit and community building initiatives such as Green Team, "Walk-n-Roll" to school days, assembly leadership, and community service projects. All 4th and 5th grade students may run for an Officer position.
Officer Positions:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretaries of School Service (2)
- Secretaries of Community Service (2)
- Secretaries of School Spirit (2)
A school-wide election is held in the fall for the Student Government Officers. All members of the Barron Park school community may vote in the election. Information meetings for students interested in running for an Officer position will be held several weeks prior to the election. Candidates for Officer positions that are not elected may serve on the Senate. In addition, all 3rd - 5th grade classrooms may elect or appoint 2 Representatives.
Officers meet once every 1-2 weeks and lead the Representative meetings. The Senate meets every 2-3 weeks. For more information contact our PTA.
