NASA – JOURNEY INTO SPACE

Explore the atmosphere on earth and beyond! Watch star dust burn, and journey through a galaxy as you investigate the life cycle of stars! Probe the mysteries of meteors and bounce around satellite light as you learn about space phenomena and Experience the life of an astronaut!

Spilling Ink: PAGE TURNING PLOTS

Using selected steps from the classic Hero’s Journey, writers will create a story with a delicious, edge-of-your-seat plot that is sure to have readers begging for more. Society of Young Inklings’ unique methodology uses active improvisational games to inspire young writers in the creation of original stories.
AFTERSCHOOL SPORTS – MARTIAL ARTS
The program consists of learning to block oncoming strikes from a non- confrontational stance, how to counter strike using open hand, elbow, and knee strikes which will cause minimal damage to their bodies while causing major damage to the threat potential, how to effectively escape from wrist, arm and carry off positions, and to think under pressure using adrenal stress training techniques.

Chess instruction provided by Chess King covers basic chess rules, basic tactics, advanced tactical training and is age, grade and skill level appropriate. All children are invited to participate, to have fun and reap the rewards and benefits of the Chess King program. Each one hour class includes a half hour of instruction followed by a half hour of tournament play. Awards are presented regularly.
By After School Music Academy
All students in grades 1-5 are welcome to join the fun new Barron Park Chorus. Open to beginning and experienced students. Students will learn musicianship skills, singing in multiple parts, following a conductor, music reading skills, and they will get to have fun making music with their schoolmates! We will be learing breathing and warm ups, playing singing games, singing folk songs, and also singing popular/movie music.
AFTERSCHOOL SPORTS - SOCCER
Soccer is a great way for your child to stretch their legs after sitting at their desk all day! After a five to ten minute warm up that integrates a reflection on skills learned in previous classes, coaches move on to developing soccer specific fundamentals and skills. From learning how to build foot coordination, to passing and goaltending drills, an hour on the field goes by in no time
robotics with ev3 mindstorms
LEGO® Mindstorms® EV3 Robotics is the latest technology! Students will incorporate the newest generation of motors, sensors and software by programming their commands directly into the intelligent brick and testing their capabilities. Our endless list of builds is sure to provide the complete fundamental components of robotics at best!
run for fun

Run for Fun is an outdoor after school program that focuses on play through field games. Kids work on speed, agility and fitness while enjoying games such as capture the flag, chaos tag, and dodgeball. Run for Fun welcomes children of all ages and athletic abilities and emphasizes good sportsmanship and positivity. Classes are held once a week and are one hour in length.
By After School Music Academy
The Barron Park Uke Group is open to students in grades K-5. The uke is an excellent instrument on which to learn how to play music. It's relatively simple to learn, easy to tote around, inexpensive, super fun, and timelessly popular! In this ensemble, we will jump right into the fun stuff and learn how to play music on the ukulele.
TALENT SHOW EXTRAORDINAIRE!

Does your child love to perform? Do they have a special talent they'd like to further explore? In our Talent Show Extraordinaire program students will work on performing arts skills such as singing, dancing, acting, comedy, and much more. We will also work on a couple of group numbers that will build teamwork and create a supportive performing arts environment. The class will culminate in a super fun talent show for family and friends to attend.
By One-On-One Basketball
After School Hoops is a fun and exciting basketball class designed for both beginning and experienced players. Through positive coaching, players will become better dribblers, passers and shooters.
BAT LEAGUE – HEROES AND VILLAINS
A bat hero comes each night to fight against evil-doers! The good guys will ride into action as students build motorized models of the bat hero’s vehicle, bat girl’s sleek motorcycle and more! Students will use their imaginations, building skills and crime-fighting passion!

Welcome to the world of possibilities. Our goal is to improve and strengthen student observational skills. We develop their drawing, sculpture, and painting techniques in both contemporary & classical styles. Projects will examine human and animal anatomy, still life, landscape, fantasy & monsters, art history and graphic design, all from culturally diverse perspectives.
AFTERSCHOOL SPORTS - LACROSSE
From learning how to properly handle a lacrosse stick, to catching, cradling, and ground ball drills, an hour on the field goes by in no time! Everyone’s skill level is taken into account, as our coaches are dedicated to providing the most rewarding experience for your child possible. As with all of the sports we offer, lacrosse not only helps the ability to multitask performing different skills, but places an emphasis on agility and sportsmanship.
Class vendors will provide supervision to grades K-3 between school dismissal time and class start time, when applicable.
Partial and full scholarships may be available. Students applying for a Scholarship must fill out the Scholarship Application and the Scholarship Class Reigstration Form.
